SCHOOL GROUP PROGRAMS
Our Laboratory Workshops offer students a unique opportunity to work in small groups with their own young research scientist as “mentor”. The learning environment is highly structured to ensure student participation and to facilitate dialogue. Students use research quality equipment, in a state of the art teaching laboratory. A pre-laboratory lecture supports student learning by introducing them to the biological concepts involved in the laboratory work. Students receive comprehensive notes and work sheets that could form the basis of a final report to be submitted for assessment.

TEACHER PROFESSIONAL LEARNING PROGRAMS
GTAC offers both primary and secondary teachers, including pre-service teachers, various programs to update their skill base and to acquaint them with contemporary issues and research in the field of molecular biology.
Lecture Series. Thursday 11th December. "The Bairnsdale Ulcer"
A detective story for the science and biology classroom.
"Updating Cell Division and Genetic Inheritance for the Middle School Classroom"
(Two day workshop for the non-biology science teacher Thurs 4th & Fri 5th December).
Lecture Series Tuesday 9th December: "Cutting Edge Chemical Biology"
A lecture series that highlights the role of the chemist in the study and manipulation of biological systems.
COMMUNITY EDUCATION PROGRAMS
GTAC seeks to broaden community understanding of the nature of molecular biology and the issues that arise from applications of DNA science.
