From a very young age I have had a fascination with science. The desire to understand why and how the world works has been a real driver in getting me to where my career is today. I completed my Undergraduate Degree in Biomedical Science in 2011 which kick-started my career in Haematology Pathology. My favourite aspect of this work was collaborating with a team of experts to quickly identify pathologies such as Leukaemia to ensure patients are cared for quickly and have the best outcomes possible. Second to my passion for science is my passion for teaching and learning. I completed a post-graduate Diploma in Teaching and Learning which led to a career as a science classroom teacher in Darwin, Northern Territory. I was lucky enough to work as the Head of Science for a school which allowed me to have a say in the setup of engaging learning environments created in science classrooms.
I believe strongly in providing a rich learning experience for every science student. Allowing the opportunity to explore how and why the world works is what inspired me, and I want to see future generations of scientists have this same passion and opportunity. Science is, and always will be the fun subject to me.
