Science Immersion Research Experience (SIRE) – At GTAC


Victorian students performing real research

Students in years 9 - 11 are invited to contribute to authentic research projects through participation in one of our 5-day Science Immersion Research Experience (SIRE) programs. Students collaborate with practicing scientists to contribute results that inform the scientist’s research program. Groups of students from schools or individual work experience students can participate in this program.

Level - Years 9 to 11

Venue - At GTAC in Parkville

Timing – 5 day program

Approximate 2020 intake dates and year levels:

Intake 1: Term 2 from 20th April – 24th April (Year 10 and 11)

Intake 2: Term 2 from 18th May – 22nd May (Year 10 and 11)

Intake 3: Term 2 from 22nd June - 26th June (Year 10 and 11)

Intake 4: Term 3 from 20th July - 24th July (Year 10 and 11)

Intake 5: Term 3 from 7th September - 11th September (Year 10 and 11)

Intake 6: Term 4 from 12th October – 16th October (Year 9 and 10)

Intake 7: Term 4 from 9th November - 13th November (Year 9 only)
